The recent Game Awards was filled to bursting with grand debuts and reveals, but the one that got many gamers the most excited was none other than the reveal trailer for Death Stranding 2 (working title), the sequel to Hideo Kojima's ambitious post-apocalyptic epic Death Stranding from 2019.

When it comes to Hideo Kojima trailers, or anything Hideo Kojima does for that matter, it’s best not to take things at face value. That is because there is nothing this gaming auteur loves more than to misdirect and play with audience expectations.

One thing we do know though, is that two major characters from the original game return: Léa Seydoux’s Fragile and Norman Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridges. Credits towards the end of the teaser trailer also confirm that Elle Fanning, Shiolo Kutsuna, and Troy Baker will be starring in the game.

Death Stranding 2 doesn't have an official release date yet, but sometime in 2024 seems realistic.
